How WebMCP Africa collects, uses and protects your personal information on webmcp.africa. Last updated 24 September 2026.
Who we are
WebMCP Africa (https://www.webmcp.africa) is run by Annabel Rautenbach, who is also our Information Officer under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You can reach us at info@webmcp.africa.
What we collect and why
- Snapshot and contact forms. Your name, email address, company, website address, number of branches and your message. We use these only to prepare your agent-readiness snapshot and reply to you. The form sends us one email; the website does not keep a separate copy.
- The chat assistant. Your questions and the assistant’s answers are sent to OpenAI to generate replies. If you use the message form inside the chat, your name, email address and message are emailed to us and kept in our website admin so we can reply.
- Emails and WhatsApp messages you send us. We use them to answer you and to provide the service you ask for.
- Website statistics. We count page views with a privacy-friendly statistics tool that does not use cookies or build a profile of you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for anything other than the purpose you gave it to us for.
Cookies
The cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. Essential cookies keep the website secure and working. The chat assistant remembers your current conversation in your own browser so it does not disappear when you change page.
Services we use
- OpenAI processes chat questions to generate answers.
- Google Fonts supplies the website’s fonts, so your browser connects to Google when pages load.
- Our web host and email service store the website and deliver form emails.
- WhatsApp and Microsoft Bookings are only used if you choose to click those links. Their own privacy policies then apply.
Some of these services are outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiries and messages for as long as we need them to help you and to meet our legal obligations, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Email info@webmcp.africa and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to our website admin is limited and protected. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
